Our retainer partnership combines a 20% discount with a personal, thoughtful approach to film and photography. We work closely with you to understand your organisation and create meaningful content through ongoing planning, production and editing.
1. Parties
This Retainer Partnership Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Birkenstock Media (“Service Provider”) and:

2. Purpose and approach
This Agreement establishes an ongoing partnership whereby Birkenstock Media provides professional film production, photography, editing, creative consultation and related media services on a monthly retainer basis.
Birkenstock Media takes a boutique, documentary-led approach, with personal involvement, close collaboration and time to understand the Client, its audience and the subjects being represented. The partnership supports authentic storytelling across corporate, agency, documentary and ongoing content projects.
Where projects involve personal experiences, sensitive environments or complex subjects, the approach emphasises listening, discretion, respect for contributors and careful representation. Difficult questions and differing perspectives are approached with curiosity, without a predetermined editorial outcome.
3. Initial retainer term
The initial retainer shall run for three (3) consecutive months, commencing on:

This period combines production with discovery, consultation and planning to understand the Client’s objectives and refine the working approach. Upon completion, the Agreement may be renewed by mutual written agreement for six (6) or twelve (12) months.
4. Retainer value and content approach
The monthly retainer of R6,900 provides an ongoing film and photography partnership, combining creative consultation, content planning, production and editing.
Our focus is on creating relevant, thoughtful content that supports your organisation’s message and builds a consistent presence over time.
As a planning guide, this may include a weekly video post, supported by more frequent photography content. The format, frequency and scope will be agreed together and may vary according to the complexity of each project and your priorities.
Production and editing hours serve as internal guidelines for planning and assessing value, rather than fixed client deliverables. The retainer covers a mutually agreed scope of work each month.
The retainer includes one strategy meeting per week to review content priorities, plan upcoming production and coordinate social media strategy and management. Meeting times will be agreed together.
The partnership can also include social media strategy and management, including content planning, scheduling and publishing on the Client’s behalf across agreed platforms. The platforms and scope of social media strategy and management will be agreed together as part of the monthly content plan, subject to the Client providing the necessary account access and approvals.
5. Retainer fee
The Client agrees to pay a monthly retainer fee of R6,900.00 (Six Thousand Nine Hundred Rand), payable in advance on or before the 25th of that month.
Birkenstock Media is not VAT-registered. No VAT is charged.
This retainer secures Birkenstock Media’s availability and covers the mutually agreed monthly scope of production, editing and consultation services outlined in this Agreement.
6.Additional services
Should the Client require services beyond the agreed monthly scope, additional work will be quoted and agreed in writing.
7.Scheduling
Production dates and consultation sessions are subject to Birkenstock Media’s availability. While every effort will be made to accommodate preferred dates, bookings will be confirmed on a first-confirmed basis.
8. Review and renewal
Prior to the expiry of the initial three-month term, both Parties will review the effectiveness of the partnership. Where appropriate, the retainer may be adjusted to better suit the Client’s ongoing storytelling, communication and production requirements.
9. Termination
Either Party may terminate this Agreement by providing thirty (30) days’ written notice. Any services completed or booked prior to termination remain payable.

For R6,900 per month, Birkenstock Media offers a flexible storytelling partnership with a 20% discount. Together, we shape a content plan around your priorities, focusing on consistent quality, personal attention and lasting value.
10. Acceptance
By signing below, both Parties acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to the terms of this Agreement.
